Nyamira woman representative Alice Chae has blamed the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) for the low voter registration turnout in the county.
Speaking at Motagara on Wednesday, Chae further said the commission had enough resources which it could have used to sensitise the public on the importance of registering as a voter.
“A section of residents in this county have not enlisted as voters because the commission provided very few BVR kits. In this case, the registration officials had to move from ward to ward so as to conduct the exercise. This really inconvenienced the people because they were not aware of where the clerks would be the next day," she added.
She insisted that the IEBC had enough resources to inform residents on which ward they would be registering.
