Bomachoge Chache Constituency MP Simon Ogari has dismissed rumours that he is eying Kisii County deputy governor’s post come 2017 general election.
Speaking on Saturday at Matagaro Sevent Day Aventist in his Constituency during a fundraising ceremony for the District's Churches, Ogari told off those propagating the propaganda to divert their energies and concentrate on things that will move the county a head.
"I categorically state here that I have neither announced nor have I any interest in being Governor Ongwae's running mate in 2017. We are comfortable that my brother Maangi is in that position and we support him fully," said Ogari.
On his part, the county Deputy Governor Joash Maangi who was also in the same event advised youths to refrain from being used by politicians in the wrong way.
Maangi also hit at politicians to desist from misusing youths and instead help them to develop and empower themselves economically.
"I condemn those individuals who are misleading our youths by inciting them against other elected leaders. I urge these youths to be wise and realise that there is totally nothing they gain from being incited by some few individuals whose main aim is to gain some political mileage for their own interest," said Maangi.
He added, "I also advise the youths to concentrate on things that can help them now and in the future."
