Nakuru town East MP, David Gikaria was today charged in a Nakuru court over allegations of malicious damage of property worth Sh7 million.

The destroyed property is said to have belonged to ENSE Limited.

Gikaria appeared before chief magistrate, David Kemei where he was charged for the incident that took place on June 6, 2015.

It is said that Gikaria led protestors in the destruction of the property beginning with the perimeter wall that was surrounding the company so as to get into the premises.

On top of that, the MP was charged with the theft of over 300 wheelbarrows. All of them valued at sh2 million.

Despite the allegations, the lawmaker denied the charges and was released on a Sh500,000 with the option of a Sh100,000 cash bond.
