Limuru residents may now breathe easy after a long wait for better roads after area MP John Kiragu began repairs of the Kwambira-Limuru Road as an emergency intervention.
This comes after residents complained over the weekend of the poor state of the road that connects the town to major highways. They threatened to plant bananas in the potholes if the government did not intervene.
According to Kiragu, these are only temporary repair works as the residents await the county government to implement a proper rehabilitation and expansion project of the road.
He expressed his concerns with the abandonment by the county government to deliver its promises to the people of Limuru and he has vowed to put them on toes.
Kiragu said that the road has been a nightmare to the residents of Limuru and revenues collected from businesses within Limuru Town by the county government ought to be used on provision of basic services such as repair and maintenance of roads within the town, improvement of the markets, street lighting and garbage collection.
The repair which is being spearheaded by the KeRRA is said to be a temporary intervention with Kiragu calling on the Kiambu Roads CeC to deliver what the county government promised.
Kiragu said that he will not relent until the government has fulfilled its manifesto. He urged residents to be calm and wait for the intervention which is underway.
The MP was speaking today at Kwambira in Limuru.
