Speaking to journalists in Juja Town on Monday, Munyua said that a crackdown to smoke out rogue contractors will be launched soon.

He said that some unscrupulous house developers have invaded the real estate sector and are putting up sub-standard buildings.

"We are not going to negotiate with people who are putting up sub-standard buildings in thirst for quick money," he said.

The legislator said that he will work with Kiambu county government and other relevant agencies to crack the whip on rogue developers.

The MP asked residents to be cautious when renting residential houses and business premises.

The Juja MP warning comes days after a six storey building under construction collapsed in Joy-land estate, Juja leaving one person seriously injured.

Police have launched man-hunt for the owner of the building who they say did not have construction approvals.

Kiambu County Commissioner Wilson Wanyanga on Friday last week said that an audit of fault buildings is being carried out across the county.

He urged residents to work with the authorities to identify faulty buildings that are a threat to locals safety especially during this rainy season.
