West Mugirango Constituency Member of Parliament James Gesami has joined other local leaders to condole North Mugirango constituents following the demise of the constituency's former Legislator Godfrey Okeri Masanya.
He described Masanya as an astute man, humble and laborious, who served the people of North Mugirango and Nyamira in devotion.
"Hon. Masanya was industrious and devoted to his work during his time as Member of parliament," he said.
"To the people of North Mugirango, Borabu and the entire family of Nyamira, we register a big loss," he added.
Masanya served as the North Mugirango constituency MP for five years between 2002 - 2007.
He also served as the Director and Chair of Sanganyi Tea Factory for a period for three years, between 2000 - 2003.
The former legislator is reported to have died on Sunday night at a Kericho hospital after short illness.
