Addressing residents at Yatta Trading Centre on Saturday, Mwangangi said that Jubilee government is taking long to fulfil development promises to Kenyans.

He said that poverty remains high in the country and that prices of basic commodities are still high. He added that the government must work on its promises and help fight rising poverty levels.

“The Jubilee government must fast-track its development promises and help alleviate poverty,” said Mwangangi.

Mwangangi said that the government has a responsibility to ensure that Kenyans have access to key and basic services.

He observed that many residents in Yatta have no access to water and other basic services. He asked Machakos County government to work with the national government so that locals can benefit from development projects initiated by the State.

Mwangangi said that he will support any leader who is willing to partner with him for the sake of development in his Constituency.

Meanwhile, the MP wants the government to take action against people who have been named in corruption scandals.

He said that rising cases of graft in the government is a clear indication that leaders are keen to enrich themselves at the expense of providing services to the local Wananchi.

“The government must take action for people who have stolen tax payer’s money and ensure that the money is recovered and channeled to development,” said Mwangangi.
