Ganze MP Peter Shehe has reprimanded Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi for allegedly using Members of County Assembly (MCAs) to frustrate him as he strives to improve the lives of residents.Addressing residents at Mbonga Primary School on Saturday where he launched a Sh8 million classroom building, the legislator said MCAs allied to the governor have been fighting him. “I have fought many wars waged against me by the governor through his MCAs. He has been advising them to frustrate projects initiated by the national government under my watch just because we differed with him,” said Shehe, as quoted by the Nation. The MP cited an incident in which a section of MCAs allegedly opposed the installation of a water tank at Kafuloni because it was initiated by the national government. “It is sad that the governor and his team have decided to frustrate development that is associated with the national government in Ganze,” he said. The legislator also said that he has stood strong amidst the frustrations, adding that he has initiated different projects including construction and renovation of primary schools, dispensaries and roads within his constituency. He further accused Kingi of sidelining MPs in the county, adding that he has not been involving them in development matters, a move he said has led to poor development. “Governor Kingi missed the priorities of this county from the start. He never called any development meeting with the MPs, and with no advice, he allocated millions of shillings to non-priority activities like to beach volleyball and the Kilifi beauty pageant at the expense of poor Kilifi people,” he said.
