Thika Township MP Patrick Wainaina has been lauded following his efforts to turn the constituency into a 24 hour economy.
This is after the MP on Monday launched the installation of street lights and home electrification program in Kiganjo estate within Kamenu Ward, Thika West Sub County.
Constituents led by Bernard Njeru stated that they will not regret electing Wainaina.
“It is only six months since we elected Mr Wainaina to Parliament. We are happy that he is committed to ensure there is light day and night in the region to help traders operate till late at night without fear of attack from criminals,” he said.
Dennis Kamanda said that the MP is delivering his campaign promises.
“During the last year’s campaigns Mr Wainaina promised to prioritize infrastructural development which is a key pillar to boost the economy and create more job opportunities for our youths.
"As the electorates of Thika Township we have more hopes in the MP. The launch of street lighting will end criminal activities in the region and enhance security and night time business activities,” he noted.
The lawmaker urged locals whose homes have not been connected with electricity to ensure their homes to apply immediately.
Wainaina said criminals have been targeting prominent businessmen in the region especially at night but street lighting will improve the quality of life for citizens and scare away thugs.
