Efforts of Kitutu Chache south MP to support education system in the region by donating stationery materials, buses and bursaries have been lauded by area residents who termed Richard Onyonka as ‘saviour’ of education system.
Speaking at Nyasore secondary school during a prize giving ceremony, parent after parent praised the legislator besides promising to re-elect him in 2017 if he still contested the seat.
They further asked the legislator’s critics to shun their constant criticism and join hands in support of the projects initiated by Onyonka.
“I wish to categorically thank the constituency administration led by Onyonka for their dedication to promote education standards in the region. He has been of great importance to our schools by distributing stationeries and buses for efficiency,” said Tony Nyang’au.
“Many of our schools have been served with buses and this has really reduced expenses incurred during academic functions outside the institution. Bursaries have also been allocated in a transparent manner and therefore critics of his administration should join him and move this region ahead,” added Francis Mong’are.
According to them, the MP has also ensured many day schools were served with tapped water that has seen students from those institutions access clean water and the surrounding community at large.
“Unlike in the past, we have seen most day schools being served with tapped water and this is really helping even the surrounding community,” said Agnes Omache.
If the words of the parents are to be taken seriously, then it might be an uphill task for outspoken IT expert Don Bosca Gichana to dislodge him from the seat.
