Nyaribari Chache lawmaker Richard Tong'i has lauded the clergy within Kisii County for preaching peace among the Gusii community.
He recognized the clergy's role in solving domestic wrangles and political differences something that has led to peaceful co-existence among the local community.
While speaking on Saturday during a church service at Nyaura SDA church in Kisii, Tong'i said that churches should be given priority in solving disputes rather than using courts.
"I am happy the way church elders are helping our government to solve issues and bring back the peace in our society. Priests and pastors should be celebrated for their efforts in uniting leaders who at times differs politically", he said.
He further urged worshipers to work hand in hand with both national and county government.
