The decision by former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar to ditch the Kalonzo Musyoka-led Wiper Party and NASA coalition is continuing to elicit mixed reactions among politicians.Kimilili MP Didmus Baraza of Jubilee Party, has lauded the former Senator, saying he made the right move.Speaking during an interview on KTN, Baraza said Omar had no future in NASA as he was playing second fiddle to Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho."Omar was right to leave NASA. He knew he has no space in the coalition. The only option left was to bolt out to remain politically relevant,” said the first-time MP.Omar unleashed a blistering attack against Kalonzo and accused the NASA principal of being a weak leader, shortly after resigning as Wiper secretary general. Omar did not spare NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga either, as he attacked the former Prime Minister’s brand of politics.Though he has not publicly declared his next political move, many pundits believe that the former Wiper secretary general is headed to Jubilee, the party which has unsuccessfully tried to conquer the Coast region which is considered an ODM stronghold.
