North Mugirango MP Charles Geni has termed ODM leader Raila Odinga as ‘courgeous and exceptional’ when he welcomed back Funyula MP Paul Otuoma back to the ODM.
Otuoma, the former the national vice chairperson and several other leaders among them Budalang'i MP Ababu Namwamba quit the party citing alleged frustrations by top leadership.
On Saturday, Raila welcomed Otuoma back to the party and reinstated him as the ODM chair in Busia during the burial of former Harambee Stars assistant coach and Gor Mahia head coach James Siang’a when he insisted that he had not quit the ODM.
And on Sunday, Geni slammed ODM rebels terming them ‘cowards’ defended Raila and the party's leadership.
“Our party leader is a very decisive man because he never discriminates anybody. I want to thank him for yet again showing that when he welcomed our embattled vice chair back after he had voluntarily quit,” he said.
“His humility and ability to treat everybody equally are indisputable. Those leaving the party are doing so just because of selfish interests and not poor leadership as some of them claim. Our party is democratic and that cannot be disputed,” he added.
He challenged rebels to reconcile with the party insisting that they will always be reabsorbed back regardless of their past ‘sins’.
“Our party leader showed it all yesterday that even those who left can be readmitted because this is a party of the people. We need to grow and their 'sins' can be forgiven so that should not fear coming back,” he said.
