Speaking on Monday while presiding over Red Elegance Beauty College graduation ceremony, the MP said thousands of youth in Mvita have benefited from the initiative, where the CDF sponsored 60% of the training fees, while the students footed the 40% balance.

He thanked youth in the region for embracing and enrolling in the programme.

Sharrif announced that his office shall roll out a similar programme in the coming years, saying it is one of the primary ways through which his leadership seeks to reduce the high rate of unemployment among the youth.

"I still have a firm belief that vocational training can be the answer to reducing the rate of unemployment among the youth in our society," he said.

"I commit to continue this programme in the subsequent years and see how best we can help our youth make an honest and sincere living out of what they are trained in," he added.
