Bonchari MP John Oyioka has been accused of hiring goons to attack his opponents' supporters.
On Tuesday, while speaking at Riana area residents said the lawmaker has been hiring goons to attack those opposed to his leadership.
"Bonchari is heading in a wrong direction. How can Oyioka be using goons to attack residents opposing his leadership. This is unacceptable and the MP should apologise to the locals before things get out of hand," said James Mogaka.
Mogaka noted that about three weeks ago, unknown people following former MP John Opore's supporter Willy Moragwa to his home and threatened to kill him if he will not stop criticizing Oyioka.
"A number of people have been receiving death threats from goons hired by the MP. Statements have been recorded at Gesonso police station but police are yet to make arrests," he said.
Simon Oyondi said the MP will be voted out if the petition before a Kisii Court challenging his August 8, 2017, victory will go through.
"We are praying that a petition filed by Opore will go through so that we can go for a by-election. Oyioka should be shown the door because he has proved to be a person championing for insecurity instead of peace," said Oyondi.
