Bumula MP Boniface Otsiula has said the Mulembe nation will have no choice but to back the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto if Cord leader Raila Odinga is picked as the National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate.
Otsiula said MP, the Luhya community is only ready to vote for NASA if ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi or Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula is picked as the flag bearer when that time comes, the Star has reported.
He also said that the community does not expect any other candidate besides the two if at all the opposition needs its support to unseat the Jubilee government from power during the August general election.
"If none of our brothers is the opposition flag bearer, let no one come to Western and tell us to vote for Raila. We will be very bitter," he said, as quoted by the Star.
Earlier, the MP has said the Wetangula’s dream of becoming opposition’s flag bearer was a far-fetched dream.
He further said the delay in the picking of the presidential candidate for the alliance is likely to lead to its fallout before the election date.
