The Luhya community will only support Deputy President William Ruto 2022 presidential bid if they are given the deputy president post.
Sirisia Member of Parliament John Waluke says the community has supported the Jubilee government and deserves the post.
“As Luhya nation, we are behind the leadership of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto and we will ensure that the deputy president becomes president in 2022,” he said in Eldoret town, Thursday
“We are 100 percent sure that Rutto will be the president come 2022, but we urge him to consider us the post since we have no hope in ODM, Wiper, Ford Kenya or ANC,” he added.
He, however, urged Luhya leaders to unite for them to unite in order to have a say in Kenya’s politics saying the disunity is among the reasons why the community has no say when it comes to national politics.
“We must unite and become one thing for us to be respected by others and make an impact in the political leadership in Kenya,” noted.
