Moiben MP Silas Tiren termed the legislature's arrest as an attempt to silence the vocal leader who is know for criticizing the government's operations.

Tiren spoke when he visited the MP at Muthaiga Police Station where he had been detained on Sunday.

Keter, a Jubilee MP, was on Friday arrested at the Central Bank of Kenya on an account of Sh633 million worth of fake treasury bills.

According to Tiren, however, the lawmaker is a victim of witch hunt.

''Keter's arrest is an attempt to silence him but i do not see that succeeding as it will only make him fight harder for his people, he is being punished for doing his job as a leader,'' Tiren said.

He bashed both President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto accusing them of spearheading the infringement of the rights of the young leader.

Tiren said the two are driving the nation towards the wrong direction with regards to Keter's woes.

''The Presidency should know that this is not the Kenya we want, we want a country that is free for all of us,'' added Tiren.
