North Mugirango MP Charles Geni has welcomed the nomination of Justice David Mariga for the position of new Chief Justice saying that he will get rid of cartels that have dogged operations in the Judiciary.
"Justice Maraga is the right man for the job because his integrity and reputation is unquestionable," said Geni as quoted by the Star.
"We are proud as a community because we have produced the second Chief Justice under the new constitutional dispensation.This has put us on the national map again," he added.
According to the lawmaker, Maraga is the right man to rebuild the Kenyan Judicial system that has in the past been accused of failing to live to its expectations.
The 64-year-old judge trounced his opponents to emerge the tops with 84 marks in the interviews conducted by the Judicial Service Commision panel.
Justice Maraga is awaiting approval from both the national Parliament and President Uhuru Kenyatta.
