An Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) legislator has said the opposition is left with no choice but to call for mass action following the Senate's decision to pass the controversial changes to the Elections Laws Amendment, Bill.
Homa Bay woman rep Gladys Wanga stated that they will go back to the people to seek their views on the matter.
"With the Senate ignoring public views and passing these retrogressive election law amendments, mass action is now inevitable. The people will exercise their constitutional power directly," Wanga posted on her Facebook page.
The opposition had earlier put on hold it's planned mass action protest that was slated for January 4 to give way for the Senate to seek public opinion on the matter.
However, in a special sitting on Thursday last week, the Jubilee senators managed to pass the bill amid opposition from their Cord counterparts.
