Borabu MP Ben Momanyi has attacked IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati for publicly saying that the next polls may be postponed due to lack of commissioners for IEBC to run its operations.
The NASA affiliated MP claimed that Chebukati is to be blamed for lack of quorum.
“Chebukati should stop playing cards with Kenyans. He failed to put his house in order something that led to IEBC commissioners to resign.
"He should resign so that a team of new people can be appointed to prepare the country for the next elections,” he said.
He called on Kenyans to ignore Chebukati saying nothing will derail the 2022 elections.
“The government must fast track the recruitment of new commissioners to IEBC so that elections can be held as scheduled.
"The issue of boundary review must be done as well without being derailed,” said the Wiper Party MP.
The legislator called on President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga to sit down and ensure IEBC is up and running because they agreed to work together.
