Borabu Member of Parliament Ben Momanyi has asked Nyamira County Governor John Nyagarama to consider naming him as his successor in 2022.
According to the NASA MP, he has never criticized Nyagarama and therefore, it is high time Nyagarama should consider naming him as his successor.
“Nyagarama should consider naming me as his successor because even his deputy governor Amos Nyaribo has tried to overthrow him but in vain.
"I have always stood with Nyagarama since 2013 and I urge him to reward me also because I believe am the best among the governor aspirants who will take over from Nyagarama,” he said.
Momanyi condemned Nyagarama’s rivals who have taken advantage of his absence from the county to spread propaganda to residents about the leadership of the county.
“Some selfish politicians have taken advantage of the absence of Governor Nyagarama to make it hard for residents to access quality service delivery.
"The confusion we have witnessed in the county in the absence of the governor is uncalled for and as leaders we should drop political hatred and serve the electorates irrespective of how they voted during the last year’s polls,” he said.
The lawmaker was speaking on Saturday during the official opening of Nyakwerema Catholic church building.
