A Jubilee MP in Nyamira County has differed with President Uhuru Kenyatta over a lifestyle audit.
Kitutu Masaba MP Shadrack Mose accused Uhuru for planning to finish his Deputy William Ruto politically.
“The recent remark by Uhuru that they will lead other leaders for lifestyle audit is targeting DP Ruto.
"Uhuru should respect Ruto because he has worked for him tirelessly as Deputy to ensure he is fulfilling his promises to Kenyans before he retires in 2022,” he said.
Mose noted that if the lifestyle audit will be done, DP Ruto’s ambition to become president in 2022 is likely to be affected negatively because Ruto has been mentioned in corruption scandals.
“Ruto helped Uhuru to clinch presidency in 2013 and 2017 but Uhuru is not appreciating his efforts now. Uhuru’s audit plan will taint the name of Ruto ahead of the 2022 politics and this will make it hard for Ruto to get votes in 2022,” he added.
The lawmaker said lifestyle audit will not help in fighting corruption because some public servants don’t depend on their salaries only.
