Nominated MP Isaac Mwaura has now bashed the Jubilee government on what he calls 'overborrowing'.
The MP who recently switched his allegiance from the ODM to Jubilee, said the money borrowed was not being used for the benefit of Kenyans but instead was being looted by those in government.
"We collect about Sh1.3 trillion now our budget is about Sh2.3 trillion, so ideally we are borrowing about Sh1 trillion, that is the truth, and we are borrowing domestically and internationally," Mwaura told NTV's AMLive show on Monday.
"These are the monies you see being misappropriated in different quotas," he added.
The Ruiru MP hopeful said the excess borrowing was a hurt to the economy that could lead to a crisis in the country.
"We are going to have an unsustainable nation, what we need to do is to have a serious clean-up of our system," he noted.
