Nyakach MP Aduma Owour has said that Nyakach sub-county is set to have two universities.
"We are fortunate we are going to have two universities in Nyakach. We are planning a major 'harambee' to build Thurgem University this year," said Aduma.
Speaking in Uridi primary school in Nyakach over the weekend, Aduma said that he is ready to work with the government in terms of development.
"Much as we ODM are in the opposition we are ready to work with the government in terms of development," he said.
He added: "Last year we had a meeting with the president to visit Kisumu County."
He urged President Uhuru to commission the second phase of Sondu Miriu to open irrigation scheme for lower Nyakach.
"If the second phase is commissioned by President Uhuru then will have the lower part of Nyakach irrigated. We will not be consuming this dust here," said the Nyakach MP.
He said that the government has planned to build two major roads - Sondu-Kusa road and Katito-Awasi road.
