Society stores formerly Leens Supermarket has been opened officially in an event graced by Thika town Member of Parliament Hon Alice Ng’ang’a.
The store has been fully renovated and it aims at improving the economy of Thika considering the town is a business centre with a high population of business persons.
The renovation process saw two ladies and five gentlemen get employment as a way of creating jobs for the Thika residents.
Ng’ang’a, in her speech, expressed her gratitude to the Asian community for working hand in hand with her citing the Education Trust fund where the Asians gave Sh20 million donation towards the fund.
“The Asian community has been a big contributor to the economy of Thika and we welcome more of them to our business community to trade with us. They earlier gave us Ksh20 million that I have been dispatching to various needy children in the constituency,” she said.
She promised to offer security to all investors and business persons in the area to ensure their comfort in trading is given a first priority.
She further cited the traffic challenge which hinders the transportation of goods adding that she has spoken to the President who has promised to build a bypass from Kivulini Estate towards Muthaiga, Kiganjo, Athena joining the superhighway at Castle breweries by February next year.
The legislator added that she has millions of shillings to nurture young talents and called on the Thika artists to join hands and grab a portion of the youth talents fund.
