According to locals, motorists have kept off using the road due to its poor state.

“We no longer have motorists using the road. We are forced to foot to market centers because motorists can’t risk using their motorbikes on the potholed road. It is time Wainaina should wake up and upgrade the road to ease transportation,” said Edwin Chege a resident.

Another resident Gilbert Kamau asked the MP to stop lying to locals that Thika region will be a 24 hour economy yet the roads in the area are poorly maintained.

“Thika Sub County won’t be a 24 hour economy with the poor state of the roads. As the MP is busy launching street lights projects he should also consider upgrading all roads in the constituency because it is the same roads locals are using to access market centers and health facilities,” said Kamau.

Kamau added that road free from potholes will reduce time wastage especially when motorists visit garages to repair vehicles and motorbikes.
