Bomachoge Borabu Member of Parliament Joel Onyancha has encouraged girls from the area to compete with boys in pursuing education.
Speaking on Wednesday in Endereti Secondary School during book harvesting, Onyancha noted that he is in the forefront to fight against discrimination of girl child in education.
“I ask girls to boldly compete with boys in attaining academic excellence since you have equal chances and opportunities. However, I ask parents to never discriminate among their children based on gender while providing them with education since all of them are equal,” said MP Onyancha.
His sentiments were supported by Nazareen University Director Kisii branch Norah Nyamwamu who also challenged parents to invest in educating their children without discriminating based on their gender for them to be equipped with knowledge for self sustenance.
“Parents and guardians must take education of their children seriously. That is the major investment they will have done to their children,” noted Director Nyamwamu.
MP Onyancha also called on leaders and other stakeholders from the area to desist from petty politics and instead come together and move the Constituency ahead .
Bokimonge Ward MCA George Bibao faulted those creating boundaries between him and MP Onyancha, adding that he is closely working with him to realise development in the Constituency.
