Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi may face an uphill task to defend his seat come the August polls for allegedly supporting Governor Cornel Rasanga.
Nyakach MP Aduma Owuor on Thursday came out defending his colleague in the National Assembly saying that they will use all means to ensure that the ODM Director of Political affairs is not sent home after August 8.
Reports indicate that key political figures in the region are increasingly becoming unhappy with the legislator who they accuse of being Rasanga's sympathizer, a man whose leadership in the county has been under scrutiny.
Senator James Orengo who is one of the most respected politicians in the region alongside Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo, Ugenya's David Ochieng and Nicholas Gumbo of Rarieda are said to rooting for Wandayi's rejection by the voters come August.
Gumbo has declared his interest to unseat the 'unpopular' Rasanga while Orengo is also rumoured to be eyeing for the seat.
Rasanga's lone-ranger status has played out in the past where key politicians from the region have skipped his functions which, nominated MP Oburu Odinga and Wandayi have always attended.
Oburu who is currently eyeing the Bondo parliamentary seat is said to be a key ally of Rasanga and he has often been quoted supporting his re-election which has put him on a collision path with the anti-Rasanga axis.
