Thika MP Alice Ng’ang’a has called on county assembly members to pass laws that will protect and improve the interests of Kiambu people.
Speaking to the media on Sunday, the legislator challenged the MCA to spearhead laws that will favour Kiambu people and further promote their living standards.
The legislator said that the county assembly has a crucial role to play in terms of legislation at the county level.
At the same time, Ng'ang'a asked the county government not discriminate in terms of resource allocation.
She asked Governor William Kabogo’s government to treat all parts of the county with equality.
“Governor Kabogo should ensure that his development agenda is reflected in all of Kiambu,” she added.
The legislator at the same time urged Thika youths to start engaging in activities that will improve their lives.
She observed that a section of youths are taking part in crime a move she indicated is not good for development.
Ng'ang'a challenged them to form groups and apply for government money which will help them start small business ventures.
She called on leaders in the area to initiate forums that will help mentor young people especially those who are addicted to drug abuse and prostitution.
