Kisauni MP Ali Mbogo has set aside Sh3 million to celebrate his victory in the August 8 elections.Speaking during an interview with the Star on Monday, Mbogo said the celebrations will provide an opportunity to rally the 128,000 registered voters in the constituency behind NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga. The MP said he will spearhead NASA campaigns in the constituency to ensure Raila clinches the presidency in the repeat election.“We need to campaign hard to ensure the voter turnout in Kisauni reaches above 90 per cent for a sure win for Raila and NASA running mate Kalonzo Musyoka,” said Mbogo.Mbogo’s aide who was quoted by the daily said the celebrations will be held in the seven wards in the constituency, with each ward set to receive Sh400,000.“That is not the definitive figure. It depends on the amount we will get because we have to look for the funds from friends. That is a tentative budget,” said the aide.Mbogo, however, dismissed reports that he plans to use the celebrations to woo residents into supporting his 2022 governor bid.“I am not thinking about 2022. I have just started serving the people of Kisauni, and I want to ensure we get our priorities right before we start thinking of other things. The election of 2022 is out of the picture,” said the MP, as quoted by the Star.
