Thika legislator Alice Ng’ang’a has asked Kenyans to support the proposed security bill to enable the government deliver quality services and to guarantee security to all.
The MP was talking to the residents in Rwanya special school, when they made a tour together with other legislators. Ng’ang’a went on to swear to support the bill when it is tabled in parliament this week.
Ng’ang’a said that Kenya has an enemy by the name Al-Shabaab who have to be fought tirelessly.
“If the enemy is not fought with all means including legislation of laws, then the country is likely to fall and more lives being risked over a simple matter which can be resolved through this bill,” said Ng’ang’a.
The MP went on to despise the opposition for their utterances in public to oppose the bill saying that they are selfish and they are not up to the welfare of Kenyans.
“The opposition wants to see Kenya fall so that they get a chance to criticise the government,” the Thika Legislature said and further added that every clear minded Kenyan have to be in the frontline to fight insecurity in the country irrespective of the political ideologies.
The bill, which has brought about many views as well as divisions in the political field.
If the security bill passes as it is, then the president will have the power to appoint or sack the inspector general of police among other matters pertaining to security.
