Mvita MP Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir has pledged to support 10 street children to undergo different vocational training to help sustain them both socially and economically.
Speaking on Saturday in Mvita at a function organised by GLAD's House, an NGO which rehabilitates street children, the legislator further promised to issue the best performing street children with bursaries.
"I confirm that through my office 10 street children will be sponsored for vocational training and another 10 who are performing well in schools will benefit from bursaries," he said.
This comes after the county government threatened to kick out street children from the Central Business District (CBD), citing security concerns.
