Mvita MP Abdulswamad Sharrif Nassir on Saturday opened a 1-day open Taekwondo tournament at Qubaa School.
The tournament for the ages of 6-24 years was organized by local Coaches from the Taekwondo Association, Mombasa branch.
The Shariff Nassir Foundation co-sponsored the championship by providing the trophies.
On Friday evening, the MP officially opened a new Volleyball pitch at RG Ngala grounds commissioned by Private partners through The Muslim Youth Volleyball Club Mombasa.
"We welcome and congratulate such community initiatives. This is a location we have even bigger plans for as we look forward to commissioning a modern football facility; am glad that funds for the phase one have already been approved by the NG-CDF board," he said.
Nassir further indicated that a project management committee had already been constituted too, including the ongoing phase II of Mwalimu House being finalized in the same location to benefit Mvita teachers.
