Mavoko Member of Parliament Patrick Makau has vowed to work with other Ukambani leaders to promote development.
Addressing reporters at Mavoko trading centre over the weekend, the MP said that he is keen to ensure people from his constituency are involved in development matters.
He vowed to support Governor Alfred Mutua in initiating projects that will benefit the people.
“I am ready to work with all Ukambani leaders to ensure that Kamba people get access to services,” he said.
Makau observed that the resources and funds being given to county governments should be used to benefit all people irrespective of their backgrounds.
He added that time when leaders focused on their personal interests and agenda’s is over and that they should strive to work for the people.
The legislator asked Governor Mutua to spearhead development to all parts of Machakos, adding that people are yearning for the services.
He said that the development initiative done by Mutua since he was sworn in office is exemplary and should be emulated by each and every leader.
Makau said that leadership is all about working for the people and ensuring that their needs are addressed.
He cautioned leaders from the region against engaging in wrangles which he said only make them to remain behind in matters socio-economic development.
