An MP allied to the opposition is prepared to take oath as the people's Deputy President if Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka declines to be sworn in.
Saboti MP Caleb Amisi on Thursday expressed annoyance over Kalonzo's laxity to take oath as opposition leader Raila Odinga's deputy in the people's government.Amisi said Kalonzo should feel free to tell the NASA fraternity whether he is ready to take the oath or not.He said if Kalonzo declines to be sworn in as the people's deputy president, he should forget vying for the presidency in 2022."Kalonzo should stop the cowardice and lift the Bible the way Raila did. Why is he scared?" Amisi asked while in a rally in his constituency. He was in the company of Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala who also accused Kalonzo of dragging the NASA agenda by continuously postponing his swearing-in.Kalonzo was expected to take oath alongside Raila on January 30 but failed to show up at Uhuru Park, a move that was heavily criticised by NASA supporters. Also conspicuously absent during the event were NASA co-principals Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula.Kalonzo claimed he could not travel to Uhuru Park for the inauguration because he had no security.
