The vocal MP said that once the street lights are completely installed in the area, security will be boosted.

"The street lighting project in the area is aimed at curbing the increased insecurity which has been a threat for growth among the residents,” he said.

Wainaina noted that the lights will also help vendors to operate long hours late at night without fearing for their security and that of their customers.

“Small business operators will have the opportunity to operate their business until late night without fearing for their security because criminals will keep off the area since their will be lights throughout the night,” he noted.

The lawmaker urged members of the public to ensure that anyone found interfering with the street lights is reported to police officers so that he or she can be arrested.

He noted that such people are enemies of development and economic growth and should be flushed out from the area.
