Kesses Member of Parliament Swarup Kiprop Mishra has promised to construct an Accident Emergency Unit at Cheptiret center.

He said this will help in emergency cases caused by road accidents along Nakuru to Uganda.

“I am not happy with the way Kenyans are losing their lives through road accidents that’s why I will construct a fully equipped 24 hour Accident Emergency Unit with an ICU unit. This will help save lives,” he said at Moi University during their 35th graduation ceremony, Thursday.

“We will employ qualified doctors who will conduct surgeries and also attend to emergencies due to road accidents,” he added.

He, however, urged drivers to be vigilant and ensure they drive safely during this festive season and should put in mind that you are carrying people and not machines.

“Road carnage has become a menace and there is a need for everyone to be vigilant of rogue drivers and don’t drink and drive and observe traffic rules. It is sad that in the month of December alone over 150 lives have been lost," noted Mishra.

Mishra urged Kenyans to share this Christmas with the less fortunate in the society since blessed in the hand that gives than the one that receives.
