Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire has asked students from his constituency to apply for bursaries from CDF kitty for their educational support.
Addressing a group of students from his area studying at various institutions in Kisii town on Saturday, the first-time MP said his leadership was keenly monitoring their education studies.
“I was once a student and I understand cumbersome life in campus. My leadership has concentrated in promoting higher education and this evident from CDF bursaries I spend every year,” said Bosire.
He faulted students for their reluctance to apply for the grants and challenged them to come up with viable projects that can be funded by the kitty.
“Most of you are ignorant and this is a sad thing. I have heard unwarranted attacks on my leadership over this vital matter and it is indeed regrettable. Am ready to even support innovative projects and none of you has come up with one,” noted Bosire.
He asked students to come up with innovative ideas that can help the constituency to progress economically besides urging them to desist from myopic politics in form of political squabbles.
“My competitors have always wanted to give a negative perception on me and they should be dismissed. I love inclusive leadership and that is what I have done,” added Bosire.
Bosire, who was recently proposed by ODM leadership to be the party’s Treasurer, said his administration will disburse Sh3Million to all University and college students from his Constituency in the financial year 2014/15.
