In an interview on Radio Citizen Sunday, the outspoken leader took issue with Odunga's recent conviction and sentencing of Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i, Inspector General of police Joseph Boinett and Immigration Principal Secretary Gordon Kihalangwa for contempt of court, accusing him of representing the interests of the opposition.

The three were found guilty of the crime following their move to ignore court orders directing them to present themselves in court and facilitate free entry of National Resistance Movement (NRM) leader Miguna Miguna into the country, a move Ngunjiri has strongly opposed.

According to the lawmaker, Odunga has openly demonstrated his allegiance to the opposition bloc, saying that he no longer has any business serving Kenyans as a judge and should join the former Premier Raila Odinga-led bloc.

''Odunga has proved his obsession with the opposition and should now consider resigning from his position and vie for a leadership slot in one of the opposition member parties,'' he said.

He poked holes into Odunga's summons, bashing him for trying to 'overlook' the executive arm of the government where Matiang'i sits.

''He has no powers to sabotage the executive's operations. He cannot purport to summon Matiang'i amid a police passing out parade and expect him to appear before him,'' he added.

The three have, however, appealed the ruling.
