Bonchari MP John Oyioka has threatened to push for the transfer of school principals in the constituency sending students home to collect lunch fees.
The lawmaker said lazy school heads in the region are only interested to collect money from poor parents yet the government has given more money to schools which should be used to provide lunch for the students as parents look for the same.
“I am not going to allow school heads in the my costituency especially those at Day Secondary Schools to continue sending students home over lunch money.
"CDF bursary funds will be given to the students to cater for the lunch expenses and I therefore, request the principals to stop sending students home,” Oyioka said.
The MP called on education officials in the constituency to intervene and stop the school heads of public day secondary schools from sending students home.
He said all students who are at home should be allowed back to school to resume learning immediately.
