An MP has questioned the source of Sh1 billion ODM party leader Raila Odinga spent on building his new home in Kisumu.
Dagoretti MP Dennis Waweru told Mr Odinga to reveal to Kenyans where he got the money splashed in constructing the palatial home overlooking Lake Victoria.
Addressing a press conference in Nairobi on Thursday, Waweru cautioned Mr Odinga against accusing the Jubilee administration of being corrupt until he explains the source of the money spent in building the home located at Kanyakwar in Kisumu West constituency.
The building whose construction started over seven years ago is nearing completion.
"Let him tell us the source of his Sh1 billion home that he is building before he talks about theft in Jubilee," the MP said.
"Raila should tell us about the Mollases plant and Kazi kwa Vijana money that disappeared under his watch."
The Odinga family in June refuted claims that the house was built using taxpayer’s money.
The family also stated that the establishment is not a residential house but a building erected by Raila's friends.
Waweru defended Jubilee government's track record saying it has done enough to deserve re-election.
He affirmed that President Uhuru was committed to war against graft.
Mr Odinga has been on the forefront accusing the Jubilee government of massive theft of public funds including the Eurobond, NYS, SGR and lately the Health Ministry saga.
The Sh1 billion house built at the slopes of Riat Hills has 70 rooms including 10 bedrooms.
It also has expansive kitchens, two main conference rooms, two small conference rooms, space for offices and a helicopter landing pad.
