Kirinyaga Central MP Joseph Gitare has said the Opposition stand no chance of defeating the ruling Jubilee government in the forthcoming polls.
Speaking during a function at Kerugoya Catholic Church grounds, Gitare said Cord rigged in 2013 elections but that did not prevent President Uhuru Kenyatta from rising to power.
The legislator alleged that former Senator Otieno Kajwang, who was the Immigration Cabinet Minister in the coalition government, helped register people under 18 years in the run-up to the 2013 election to vote for Cord leader Raila Odinga.
He said Raila even if picked to be the flag bearer of the National Super Alliance (NASA) will lose again to President Kenyatta on August 8.
“Raila is a perennial loser and he will remain the opposition leader, “ the MP said.
Gitari added that he will be running for the Kirinyaga governor seat to dislodge the incumbent Governor Joseph Ndathi whom he accused of letting down residents.
