Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu has responded to Chief Justice David Maraga's statement concerning the recent disregard of Court orders.
According to Ngunjiri, Maraga has clearly depicted that he is partisan in the country's political scene since he failed to respond following actions taken be the opposition during the electioneering period in 2017.
In his view, the CJ failed to act on the anti-IEBC demos, violence experienced during elections, NASA's disregard of Supreme Court's call for a repeat election among other issues.
Through his Facebook page on Wednesday, Ngunjiri further remarked that Maraga must be told off since he allegedly 'cleared judges' to swear-in opposition chief Raila Odinga.
"CJ Maraga sees absolutely nothing wrong with people removing IEBC officials from office using force, interfering with elections using violence, refusing to accept IEBC & Supreme Court rulings on a fresh election, setting up people’s assemblies against a validly legally established government, publicly declaring fake election results, and even swearing some imposter as ‘President’ - but this a problem!" posted Ngunjiri.
He added, "CJ Maraga must be told off. This is the guy who cleared judges to swear in Raila. He has lost all moral authority to pontificate."
The Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet and Director of Criminal Investigation (DCI) George Kinoti have been chastised for failing to obey orders calling for the availing of Miguna in Court.
On Wednesday, Maraga reiterated that the disobedience to Court orders is 'inimical to the rule of law' as well as 'at odds with Kenya's constitutional outlook'.
Maraga however affirmed that the Judiciary will continue to carryout its mandate with independence and authority.
