CORD leader Raila Odinga is expected to attend a healing and thanksgiving prayer service organized by Kisumu West Member of Parliament Olago Aluoch on Thursday. The thanksgiving service was organized for the occasion of the MP's successful cervical neck disc surgery in Delhi. January 9th the legislator collapsed in kisumu when the body of Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga's son Fidel Castro Odinga was brought to Kisumu. He was hospitalized at Aga Khan hospital in Kisumu before being airlifted to Nairobi for more specialized treatment. Kisumu West CDF Bursary Chairman Babu Karan said that the function was organized to foster unity and development in the area. He added that it is also going to be the first time that the Cord notable members are addressing the constituents who for a long time have felt as though they were left out in the political cold.. The CDF bursary chair,who read the MP's official statement to the press at the Kisumu Senate office in Milimani said that the event is also aimed at confirming the legislator's loyalty to the opposition. The MP faces criticism for not forward the opposition's cause in parliament after decamping from ODM to Ford(Forum for the Restoration of Democracy) Kenya during the party nominations in 2012 which brough him to lose the ODM ticket to Rosa Buyu who is currently the second Vice Organizing Secretary of the party, explained Karan.
