Kangundo MP Fabian Muli has promised to construct new and modern toilets at St.Francis Misyani Primary School in his constituency, Machakos County after their toilets crumbled.
The school's head teacher had reached out to local leaders for support after the toilets caved in last week.
Due to the incident, the school was forced to close earlier so as to avoid health risks caused by the caving which had left large holes in the facilities.
Muli said the school had never received any project from Constituency Development Fund (CDF) despite the fact it was established in the colonial era.
He addressed the press at the school after inspecting the toilets' situation on Friday.
Muli said more than ten classrooms in the school are in pathetic condition hence pupils can't undertake their studies effectively.
He said the school will be among the 23 which have benefited from the funds if the toilets are constructed with ten more classrooms to avert the dire situation.
"This will be the 23rd school to benefit from the CDF kitty under my leadership," Muli said.
Muli promised bursaries to the orphans and vulnerable children learning in the institution in a bid of motivating needy families to take their children to school.
"The school has 23 disabled pupils, they will be provided with Sh5,000 bursary each annually to boost their education," Muli said.
