Devolution Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri has been accused of using relief food to 'bribe' the electorate ahead of October 26 repeat presidential elections.Msambweni Member of Parliament Suleiman Dori said the government should not use the food, which is bought by taxpayers money, to woo Kenyans in order to vote for President Uhuru Kenyatta in the poll slated for later this month."We don't want to see leaders give our people maize and beans as a way of buying them. The food has been bought using public funds. He (Kiunjuri) should look for work to do, not fly here to bribe people with food," Dori said speaking during a campaign rally in Diani Town, Kwale County.Kiunjuri has been distributing the relief food in various parts of the country, saying the government is aiming at feeding hungry Kenyans affected by the ongoing drought."They (Opposition leaders) come to you empty-handed, but today we have brought you food. We will distribute the relief food until the rains come, when you can harvest enough food from your farms," the CS told Taita Taveta residents recently.
