MPs allied to the National Super Alliance (NASA) will oppose every move by Jubilee Party to force changes to the election laws ahead of repeat presidential election slated for October 26.Gem MP Elisha Odhiambo said the NASA will take a hardline on the ruling party lawmakers if they attempt to pass the laws in the August House."We are going to turn Parliament upside-down if Jubilee tries to force unlawful elections amendments on Kenyans," Odhiambo said, as quoted by the Star. The legislator added: "No draconian laws will be passed in Parliament even if it means that we demonstrate until the end of the world."Odhiambo said President Uhuru Kenyatta was setting a bad precedent through changing rules 'at half-time', adding that for stability and peace to prevail in the country, Jubilee should abandon the proposed amendments."Let Jubilee leaders sober up and understand Kenya is bigger than individuals. The draconian laws are creating very fertile grounds for violence. Let them hold their horses," the MP added. The remarks by Odhiambo comes as President Kenyatta has urged the MPs to proceed with their proposals since they were on the right path."Members of Parliament should speed up the process that will ensure we can have elections where no one will doubt who the winner is," the President said on Monday.
