Onyango K'Oyoo (Muhoroni) noted that  intermarriage is the best way to improve the relationship between the two communities.

"We have to live together for purposes of developing our country.

"Youth constitute majority of the population of Kenyans. Kalenjin and Luo youth should intermarry. This way, we will end fighting because customarily, in-laws can't attacks in-laws," K'Oyoo stated.

During the repeat election, tension was high in the region as a section of youth blocked major roads paralysing transport activities in the region.

Governor Anyang Nyong'o and his Nandi counterpart Stephen Sang were forced to intervene to restore calm.
