Speaking on Radio Jambo Monday, the lawmaker noted that the Odinga-led bloc is set to soon lose its popularity, especially in the Western Kenya region, as an aftermath of the truce.

Citing Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula's Senate Minority Leader ouster, Barasa said that the party has suddenly sidelined the region upon its new friendship with the ruling Jubilee Party and will only discover its mistake in the approaching 2022 polls.

"Though the pledge by the two leaders to spearhead national cohesion is a matter of national importance, Odinga's ODM will emerge the biggest victim of the union because it has resorted to ignorance and is now mistreating its long time allies," he said.

"As a result of its recent offensive on Wetangula, the party is unlikely to attract any mergers in the future, especially with formations from the Western Kenya region," he added.

Wetangula has since hit back at Odinga accusing him of doing less to salvage him from dominant ODM senators who unanimously voted in favour of his dethronement.

The Ford Kenya party boss who doubles up as the opposition's National Super Alliance (NASA) has since denounced his unity with the former Premier in protest, embarking on establishing a united front in his Luhyaland backyard.
